1. Download the old working image
2. copy the image.img file to the root folder of a USB stick
3. attach the USB stick to the device
4. torn the device off
5. find the reset button within the case (you should see it either in one of the wholes on the side or the bottom of the device
6. push the reset button and keep it pressed
7. turn on the device (while still pressing the reset button)
8. wait 5 - 10 seconds and release the reset button
9. after a few more seconds the dive starts to upgrade the firmware from the usb stick.

There are also pictures in the manual on page 30 and 31.

Thank you for your reply, but I'd disassembled whole device before and did not find any button except 'power'

There are boards without a reset button. Maybe you have one of those. :-(
Maybe this thread will help:

hi andrey

Once you have restore your EG-R2A player, I wonder if you will be kind enough to check this issue. I had heard that some 1073 chipset media player, have problem seeing their internal hdd when an external hdd is installed. I hope could help check whether if there is this problem see all the hdds when external hdd had been installed via usb and esata port.

I wanted to purchase this however I am still considering whether to go ahead with the purchase as R2A design still lack 2 features that I was interested in.

hi andrey, Thanks for the feedback on the R2A.

By the way, i think the restore/reset button for R2A is at the bottom. Look at the manual page 31.

However, I think it's good to wait for Sean for further comment.
